Amigurumi Penguin - A Free Crochet Pattern

Welcome to the 2nd pattern in the Christmas in July series! If you missed Ray the Reindeer (our first pattern) you can still find his pattern plus more here!

I'm excited to introduce you to Penn the Penguin! He is the perfect gift or stocking stuffer measuring in at 7 inches tall.

This pattern is also great for beginners and only uses a few stitches. To make this pattern you will want to be familiar with a magic circle, invisible decrease, and sewing on parts.

If you are new to amigurumi be sure to check out my tips page to help you get started! I go over each topic above in mini photo tutorials.

Be sure to also join the Grace and Yarn Crochet Group on Facebook. Share your projects, get inspiration and ask questions as you go!

Want more Christmas patterns, I've gathered all of the free patterns in one easy to find spot right here!

Assembly

1. Sew the eyes on the head, I placed mine centered covering 4 rou
nds with 4 stitches in between

2. Next, sew the nose in between the eyes and lightly stuff as you go

3. Sew your head onto the body making sure to stuff the neck firmly as you go

4. Sew the wings onto either side at an angle, I started at round 26 and ended at round 21, see pictures below for example

5. Time for the feet, place them evenly at the bottom starting at the 2nd round and ending at the 5th round as pictured below. I sewed the bottom portion and then slightly up each side for added strength

6. Lastly place your scarf around the neck and tie
