Free Amigurumi Dragonfly Pattern

2026 brings in a new year and Daphne the Dragonfly is our first pattern release to share! She reminds me that spring is coming with all of its sunshine and color.

Last year we released Bree the Butterfly and many of you know Beatrice the Bumblebee and you bet all three of these patterns are about the same size making a fun trio! I'm thinking we may need to add a ladybug one of these days...

Daphne's pattern has the body and head made as one piece. I also chose to hot glue her wings onto her back, but if that's not your thing they can definitely be sewn on as well.

If you're new to amigurumi her pattern is fairly easy with few parts being sewn. You'll want to be familiar with working in a magic circle and invisible decreases (you can find our best tips here!).

Don't want to miss a new pattern?

- Finished dragonfly measures approximately 10 inches tall.

- Slowly stuff as you go, you want it to be firm but not stretched. You will be working in the round; I like to use a stitch marker at the beginning of each round.

Note: Here is where we will add the facial features before we start closing the head. Insert the eyes between rounds 43 and 44, 7 stitches apart. Optional: Place your eyes where you would like them and then remove to embroider your eyelashes before attaching the washer to the back. (This creates a little hole to help see where you want your eyelashes to go).

Smile – With crochet thread create a ‘V’ for your smile between the eyes.

Cheeks – With pink yarn create the cheeks by passing through a stitch just outside each eye.
