As I'm typing up Part 3 I'm thinking we need a mini version of these sweet Llamas. What do you think? Feel free to share a comment below or in the Facebook group if this is something you'd like!

Ready to finish your Llama(s)?

Here we go starting with our 3.5mm hook!

Arms

*Lightly stuff the bottom half of the arms*

With light brown

Round 1: Create a magic circle with 6 SC

Round 2: SC INC in each stitch around (12)

Rounds 3-6: SC around (12)

Change to body color

Rounds 7-22: SC around (12)

At the end of round 22 pinch the arm flat and make 6 SC across the top to close, fasten off and leave a long tail to sew onto the body.

Tail

With body color

Round 1: Create a magic circle with 8 SC

Round 2: SC INC in each stitch around (16)

Rounds 3-7: SC around (16)

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing

Scarf

With color of choice and 5mm hook, chain 78

Row 1: HDC in the 2nd chain from hook and in each chain across, chain 1 and turn (77)

Rows 2-3: HDC across (77)

Cut 4 strands of yarn about 6 inches long, slip stitch each one into the ends of the scarf to create a fringe (I left my starting and ending yarn there as fringe, no need to weave them in). Cut the strands to make them all even.

Final Assembly

1. Sew the head onto the body, making sure to have the facial features centered. Add extra stuffing into the neck as you go to keep if firm and less wobbly.

TIP: I like to place the head onto the neck to see where I want it to be. Making a mental note of which round I'll follow as I sew. Using stitch markers (sewing pins or safety pins will work too), I place 2 or 3 around to hold the head in place. I attach on the round of the head I want to sew along and into the stitch on the neck to hold it in place.

(Here's a picture for reference from the Berry Patch Bunny pattern)

2. Next, sew the arms onto the body centered with the head at round 45.

3. Sew the tail to the back of the body, adding stuffing as you go.

4. Lastly, I folded the scarf in half around the neck and pulled the ends through the loop.

Yay! Your llama is complete! Thank you SO much for joining in on the Crochet-a-Llama CAL, it has been so much fun! I hope you've enjoyed it too!

Be sure to share your finished llama(s) with everyone in the group, we'd love to see them!
