Emma the Fox - A Free Crochet Pattern

Meet sweet Emma the Fox, measuring at 13 inches tall she is ready to cuddle! Emma is the newest addition to my Forest themed animals and also comes in a boy version. You can find Eli here!

The Grace and Yarn Crochet Group is growing and I love seeing your projects and the patterns you're working on.

If you haven't joined yet, head on over and share your WIP, ask questions and engage with a warm community who also love to crochet! I'll keep you updated on new patterns, giveaways, and tutorials!

In most of my patterns I use plastic safety eyes, they are easy and fast to install. However, they are not recommended for children under 3.

If you are making this for a little one or don't have the size needed on hand, I recommend using my crochet thread eyes as an alternative!

Are you new to amigurumi? Be sure to check out my tips and materials page to help you get started!

You may make and sell items made from this pattern but please do not sell, share or reproduce the actual pattern. If you sell finished items online (Etsy, etc) please provide a link to the pattern and credit to me as the designer, thank you. I hope you enjoy this pattern!

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing

Take your black yarn and tapestry needle; make a ‘V’ and pass through across as shown below. Pass through a few more times from the bottom center to the top until your nose is filled in:

Assembling the head-

Sew the nose onto head centered evenly with the eyes as pictured below (Optional: Use pins to hold in place as you sew) Stuff the nose lightly just before sewing is complete. Next, sew the ears starting at the 3rd round and ending at the 8th.

Dress-

To work the bottom part of the dress, have your fox’s body towards you and feet away from you (see pictures below for example) and we’ll work around:

With dress color B create a slip knot and attach with a slip stitch to one of the front loops from round 37 (for a cleaner look attach at the back of the body).

Round 1: Ch 2, DC in the same stitch and in each stitch around, join with a slip stitch to the first DC (42 DC)

At the end of round 20 pinch the arm flat and make 5 SC across the top to close, fasten off and leave a long tail to sew onto the body.

Bow-

 Make 1 of each size

Small - Working in a magic circle make 5 DCs, slip stitch, 5 DCs, and slip stitch again, pull your string tight and wrap it around the middle of the bow 4 times. Tie/secure in the back and cut your string leaving a long section to sew with. Sew onto the ear of your choice.

Medium - Working in a magic circle make 7 DCs, slip stitch, 7 DCs, and slip stitch again, pull your string tight and wrap it around the middle of the bow 4 times. Tie/secure in the back and cut your string leaving a long section to sew with. Sew onto the dress.

Attaching everything together-

Sew the head onto the body, making sure to have the facial features centered. Add extra stuffing as you go to keep it firm and less wobbly. Next sew the arms onto the body centered with the head at round 44. Lastly sew your bow onto the body at round 36.

Your fox is complete! I hope you have enjoyed making her, feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions!

Thank you,

Stephanie
