Free Amigurumi Plush Goose Pattern

Meet Gertie the Goose, our new plush amigurumi pattern release! I recently tried out Hobby Lobby's Baby Bee Snug and Kisses blanket yarn and I enjoyed working with it. The softness is perfect and miss Gertie here worked up in a breeze!

We've contemplated adding a goose to our farm as we've heard they are a great protector for chickens from birds of prey. Until then Miss Gertie here will do!

Tip for working with plush yarn - If you are having trouble with your yarn breaking while making a magic circle I find it helps to place 3 SC into your ring and then pull almost closed. Add your remaining 3 SC and you are good to go!

  • Size 6 super bulky weight yarn (115 yards of white, 30 yards of orange; small amount of pink)
  • 4.5 mm crochet hook

Abbreviations - US terminology

MC- Magic circle

SC INC- Single crochet increase

INV DEC- Invisible decrease

St(s)- Stitch(es)

Rep – Repeat

NOTES -

- Slowly stuff as you go, you want it to be firm but not stretched. You will be working in the round; I like to use a stitch marker at the beginning of each round.

- The body and head will be made as one piece. I recommend tight stitches and firm stuffing to help avoid a wobbly neck.

- Finished plush goose measures approximately 13 inches tall.

- Yarn used is Hobby Lobby Baby Bee Snugs and Kisses in the shade Soft Snowflake and Premier Parfait Chunky in the shade Tangerine.
