Free Crochet Plush Chick Pattern - Easy Amigurumi

Need a little something to add to your Easter baskets this year? These little cuties are the perfect size and work up in an evening!

Spring is my favorite season! The colors, change of weather (aka more sunshine where I am!), and most of all the blooms! I love that Easter comes during spring as well and each year I brainstorm some ideas to add to my kids baskets. Enter these sweet amigurumi plush chicks.

The pattern is worked from the bottom up and only requires the arms to be sewn on. Add stripes or colors to make a "painted egg" look as well!

- Finished plush chick measures approximately 6 inches tall.

- Yarn used in pattern is Hobby Lobby’s Baby Bee Adore-a-Ball in Bumblebee Wings and White, Parfait Chunky in Tangerine.

Note – Here is where we will attach the facial features.

- Place the safety eyes 3 sts apart between round 13 and 14. With black crochet thread add eyebrows/eyelashes to your liking before securing the backs of your safety eyes.

- With a small strand of orange pass through 2 sts between the eyes to form the beak. Continue to pass through to reach the thickness you would like (I completed 3 passes).

- Lastly, with a small amount of pink add cheeks by passing through a stitch twice just below both eyes.

Round 17: SC around (18)

Round 18: *SC in the first 4 sts, INV DEC in the next*, *rep around (15)

Fasten off and sew the remaining hole closed, weave in your end.

Feathers -

With yellow create a slip knot and attach with a sl st to the top of the head. Ch 6 and sl st into a neighboring st, this creates one ‘feather’. Repeat 3 more times for a total of 4 feathers. Fasten off and weave in your end.

Eggshell trim –

With white yarn create a slip knot and sl st to one of the front loops from round 10 on the body. Complete a HDC into each front loop around the body. Sl st to your first HDC. Fasten off and weave in your end.

Arms –

With yellow ch 4, HDC in the 2nd ch from your hook, SC, sl st (3)

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Sew each arm onto either side of your chick at round 10 (just above the eggshell trim).

Feet –

With your tapestry needle and orange yarn pass through 3 sts between rounds 5 and 6, three times. Line up your feet to be below each eye. I kept 4 sts between each foot. Fasten off and weave in your end.

Your plush chick is complete! I hope you have enjoyed making this pattern. Thanks for stopping by! Looking for more patterns? Check out our directory here.
