Mini Crochet Zebra Part 2

We are so close to finishing our sweet little zebras, I'm excited to see all of the details come into place!

For our final part we will be making the ears, tail, mane and sewing all of our pieces together. If you are new to amigurumi I recommend using pins to hold each part in place. This allows you to move each piece exactly where you would like it to be before you start sewing.

I've also included a left and right handed video for making the mane below!

If you are just joining in or learning about the CAL it's not too late to start! You can find all of the details about the CAL and link to previous parts here! Each part will remain free here on the blog so you can crochet at your own pace.

Assembly –

  • Sew the ears onto the head at round 46 on each side.
  • Holding your white and accent color together we will make the mane starting between the ears and work our way down the back of the head.
    • Create a slip knot and slip stitch into the stitch closest to the ear as pictured below.
    • Chain 8 and slip stitch into the next stitch.
    • Continue this process until you reach the other ear (completes one row of the mane).
    • Slip stitch into the next stitch towards the back of the head to make one more row back across to the first ear. Make additional rows until you reach the bottom back of the head.

  • Next, sew the arms onto the body centered with the head at round 27.
  • Lastly, cut 2 strands of accent color and 1 strand of white approximately 6 inches long to make the tail. Using your crochet hook, pull the strands through a center stitch on the back of your zebra. Next, pull your ends through the loop and pull tight. Trim to your desired length.

Your mini zebra is complete! Thank you so much for joining in on our CAL, I hope you enjoyed this pattern! If you've made a mini zebra feel free to share it with us in the group, we'd love to see them!
